Hi!

Hello and welcome to my little experiment!

I read a lot and I love talking about the books I read, so this year I’ve decided to read a bit more critically and to review books that I’ve read. While I do read a lot of YA novels, you’ll find some other genres scattered in-between.

I’m currently employed by a publisher, however, all views expressed on this blog are my own and in no way influenced by my company.

If you need to contact me, feel free to do so via the “Ask me Anything” section, or else my email ishanella(at)gmail, I’m sure you can fill in the rest.

How I Review

I write my reviews based on a very loose system. I try to give an honest opinion in a constructive way. Since I’m reading and experiencing the book through my eyes, my experience and reaction to what I read might be vastly different from yours. I review based on how real the characters feel to me and the way the narrative captured me.

The reason for this site is not to dissuade you from reading books - even if I didn’t have a great reading experience - it’s for you to be aware of what’s out there, of what I think and to go test the waters for yourself.

Most of the books on this site were purchase by me. The ARCs I do have I received from conferences, authors and NetGalley (mostly). I am not paid to review, this is done on my own time. However, I do have an Amazon Associates account. All links to Amazon are tracked under that account. Any money gained goes towards giveaways. If you have chosen to support this site by utilizing those links, I thank you.

"Do you think I am an automaton? — a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God's feet, equal — as we are! (Jane to Mr. Rochester-Ch. 23)"— Charlotte Brontë
